Safeguarding
At Park Brow Primary School children learn in a caring, safe and inclusive environment. Children are nurtured to achieve their full potential whilst learning how to keep themselves safe. Children are taught to develop positive and healthy relationships, encouraging team work and respect for one another. Park Brow has a responsibility to share any concerns we may have, regarding the protection and safety of children to relevant external agencies including health and children’s services. School are not able to investigate concerns but have a duty to refer them. In most cases school will inform parents/ carers if a referral needs to be made. Park Brow follows current legislation and Local Safeguarding Children’s Board procedures with an aim to act in the interests of the child. Park Brow will always seek to work in partnership with parents and other agencies to ensure the best possible outcomes for the child and family.
We are an Early Help School- How can we help you?
We believe passionately about working in partnership with our families and the benefit of early support. Early Help is about giving families support as soon as challenges start to appear—before they become bigger problems. It’s a way for schools and other services to work together with parents and carers to make life easier and safer for children. This might include help with routines, attendance, emotional wellbeing, or family concerns.
The goal is simple: to provide the right help at the right time, so children can thrive and families feel supported. If you ever feel you need a little extra help, please speak to Miss Casey, our Early Help Lead, who can guide you to the right support and resources.
What is Early Help?
Early Help means taking action early before problems get bigger. It’s about working with families, listening carefully, and finding solutions that work best for you.
We can support with:
Behaviour or emotional concerns, sleep routines, housing or financial worries, parenting support, child development concerns, school attendance and links with health practitioners. No judgement. Just support.
How does Early Help work?
There are 4 levels of support:
Level 1 – Everyday Support:
Help from universal services like health visitors, GPs, schools, children’s centres, youth clubs.
Level 2 – Extra Help:
Targeted support with short-term plans from school or services.
Level 3 – Partnership Plus:
For complex needs. A Lead Professional coordinates support and brings together agencies.
Level 4 – Specialist Support:
Social care involvement where significant concerns exist.
No matter the level, you will always be at the heart of the process.
Why Early Help matters
We want every family to get the right support at the right time, with someone who listens, understands, and works alongside you. Especially for Nursery & Reception Families starting school is a big step. Let’s build a trusting relationship early on to give your child the best start.
Come and say hello during nursery visits or transition sessions!
